How good is a cool change? …

By | March 4th, 2019|

How good is a cool change? If you can call it that when it still hits 27c! . . These beauties went out for Steph and Henry yesterday. . . With roses this fragile and with heat like yesterday's it meant we were up super early to finish creating the bouquets. . . But we allowed a few minutes just after dawn to play with some cute shots! . . What’s your fave, 1 or 2? . . Shout out to @sohoroses who busted her chops to get our massive order filled the week of her own wedding! Also to @grandiflora who never fail to deliver quality! @ Thrive Flowers & Events

Epic #foamfree head-table runner created onsite …

Epic #foamfree head-table runner created onsite for J&T.⠀ ⠀ Using #nofloralfoam can take more time as things can't be made in advance as easily... But it's something that's important to us and we're striving every day to challenge ourselves, educate our clients and work towards becoming 100% foam free.⠀ ⠀ It's not always easy; the industry and therefore the clients have learnt to become accustomed to the ease of using foam and the shapes and designs that can be created with it. But it is not biodegradable and a huge hazard to marine life, as so much of it goes down the drain. ⠀ ⠀ The challenge of learning to create our designs differently is exciting and thinking outside the (floral foam) brick is incredibly rewarding.⠀ ⠀ Would you go foam free for your wedding?⠀ ⠀ Photo @ramifosberrystudios ⠀ Dress @marianahardwick ⠀

Life is short,⠀ Take the trip,⠀ Buy the shoes,⠀ EAT THE CAKE!!⠀ ⠀ This scrumptious number was made by a friend of the family, and oh my the poor lady was stressed! The cake had started to sink a little on one side and she begged us to try and make it look more symmetrical and hide some imperfections.⠀ ⠀ I couldn't count the amount of times a spare bucket of flowers & foliage saves the day and it's always a must have for us, you just never know what you might have to hide or highlight or generally add some last minute beautification.⠀ ⠀ Rad pic by @allsorts_pictures

Go big or go home!⠀ ⠀ This whopper was for Sara whose fiancé proposed on Christmas day. What Matt didn’t realise was that Sara always wanted a warm weather wedding. So they plunged full swing into planning their day and 3 months later tied the knot!⠀ ⠀ How long will you spend planning?⠀ Our calendar is already filling up for next year, so get in touch!

When flowers meet books.⠀ …

When flowers meet books.⠀ ⠀ We love nothing more than a wedding with a meaningful theme. So when A&A said they wanted to incorporate books into their arrangements because one of them's a writer (#thebookninja), we couldn't wait to get started on a design. We didn't know how we were going to make it happen at first but we just knew that we had to make it work.⠀ ⠀ We think it turned out pretty great and so did A&A who said⠀ "Thanks so much to you and the Thrive team for all your beautiful work... The flowers were just so beautiful, everyone was raving about them (especially the book centrepieces, the chuppah and the installation!). You made the day so magical. We will definitely be recommending you to everyone we speak to!"⠀Lovely pic by @chris_kapa_photographerHave you got a theme planned? We'd love to hear about it!⠀
